Why No One Can Find Your Business Online (Even If You’re Great at What You Do)

This week, two separate small business owners reached out to me with the exact same problem:

“I know I’m good at what I do. But lately, it feels like no one can find me online.”

And guess what? They’re right. Their websites weren’t working for them — and not because of how they looked, but because of what was underneath the surface.

So let’s break down what’s really going on when your site looks “fine” but still doesn’t show up.

1. Your homepage isn’t saying what it needs to say

Your homepage isn’t just the front door — it’s the whole elevator pitch. Most people won’t click past it. If your message isn’t clear, specific, and tailored to your ideal client? You’ve already lost them.

You can’t afford to be vague. “Helping people thrive” means nothing to a search engine or a potential customer.

2. Your SEO is either missing, messy, or misused

Here’s what I found in both sites after a 5-minute audit:

  • No meta descriptions

  • Page titles that were either blank or irrelevant

  • Heading structures that made zero sense

  • Images with no alt text

If that means nothing to you, that’s exactly the problem. Search engines need these details to understand who you are and what you offer. If they’re not there, you’re invisible — even if your site is beautiful.

SEO isn’t magic. It’s strategy. And most people haven’t been taught how to use it — which is where I come in.

3. You think SEO ends with your website. It doesn’t.

Your website is part of the puzzle, but not the whole thing. If your business isn’t set up on Google, your site hasn’t been indexed, and you’re not showing up in the places people are searching — you’re losing leads without even realizing it.

And let’s talk about social media while we’re here.
Google and Bing index your social profiles. That means your Instagram bio, Facebook page, and even your Pinterest board are helping (or hurting) your searchability.

If your social profiles are half-assed or off-brand? You’re leaving visibility on the table.

Ready to fix it?

These problems are common, but they’re fixable — and you don’t have to do it alone.

If you're tired of wondering why no one's finding your business online, let’s take the guesswork out of it. Submit an inquiry below and tell me a little about what’s going on. I’ll take it from there.
